1900 to 1960 Colonial Interior Style

One of the most prevalent and enduring styles of the 20th century was traditional Colonial Revival derived from early American rooms. Antiques and family heirlooms were often prized and displayed. Magazines ran innumerable articles about incorporating antiques with both traditional and modern styles ... "modern" in this context ranging from Arts & Crafts or Mission styles of the '00s and '10s to Art Deco and Bauhaus International or Art Moderne influences of the 1920s and '30s. Modern styles often received sidelong glances from many Americans who often leaned heavily toward the traditional and perceived the modern styles as "faddish." Our collection ranges from heavy duty Colonial to lighter interpretations shown in period publications and advertising.
