Design No. 397

from "The Bungalow Book" by Henry Wilson (1910)

This home, according to Wilson, is "admirable in many ways." It's more eclectic than a narrowly constructed definition allows and incorporates several characteristics that make it an intriquing home.

It's relatively large for the period at just over 2000 square feet. The forward catslide gable gives the facade an English cottage flavor and the bell-cast curve of the roof draws from the Queen Anne style. On the interior, and given its 32 ft. square dimension, it's clear that it is a derivative of the Foursquare style.
