The Worthington

1916 Sterling system Home

Like many of the Sterling homes, the Worthington bungalow has a Jack-and-Jill bathroom shared by both bedrooms with no access but through one of the bedrooms. In a one bath home, this has obvious disadvantages viewed from our 21st century perspective, but for the new home buyer c. 1916, it would have been a marvelous improvement over a midnight trek to the privy out back.

The den, with windows on two sides, adjoined the living room to provide additional public space or serve as an office or guest room.
