Several plans offered by Sears in 1936 included more amenities than the typical small homes. One was the Norwich, a streamlined and modern Minimal Traditional. Narrow eaves and a simplified facade combine with the side gabling and symmetry of the earlier Colonial Revival styles. The two-car garage with direct access to the kitchen is balanced on the other side by a one-story extension housing a library. Three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms offered enough room for the average family.
