Blue Ribbon No. 11183

1924 Blue Ribbon Homes by William A. RAdford Co.

Airplane (called aeroplane or pop-tops by some) bungalows are one of the most interesting styles of this type. Modeled on the Swiss Chalet, most have very wide eaves and a relatively shallow roof pitch. This one has ribbons of windows and a somewhat Prairie School feel. Radford's writer describes it as Oriental. I won't quibble. The second floor is a sleeping porch ... I'd lay claim to it as an office. This plan is still a small house though with less than 1200 sf of heated space on the main floor.
