Design No. 7099

1908 Wilson & Girod Catalog by William A. Radford Co.

Vernacular, or folk housing, was by definition simple and, until the railroad made it practical, built of indigenous materials. As rail made new materials available everywhere, modern building methods using relatively inexpensive balloon-framing ensured that older folk styles evolved using the new techniques. Simple side-gabled houses like No. 7099 reflected the 19th century vernacular style.
