The vernacular Caputa is a good example of the many duplex-style houses that were built in the first part of the 20th century. Each floor was the equivalent of a small house with its own porch and basement and attic access. Each floor of the Caputa was close to 1200 sq. ft. with two bedrooms, one bath.
