1916 Garden City Plans - Design 84

"The house of brick is not so common in Southern California as in other sections of the country. A brick house, however, cannot be surpassed for coolness in summer and warmth in winter. English in feeling thruout, the use of half timber on the second floor further distinguishes this design as belonging to that style. The plan is well studied."

This plan anticipates the popularity of the English Revival style of the 1920s. Though not large by today's standards, it had 2500 square feet of living space on the main and second floors. Cost to build? About $6100.
