1918 American Modern Homes by the C. L. Bowes Co.
This 2-bedroom, 1-bath craftsman-style design is typical of the many plan book bungalows that proliferated during the 1910s. Small houses like this were readily affordable by most working families. Its extremely compact footprint wasted virtually no space and, while we generally wouldn’t like the direct bedroom access or remote placement of the bathroom, it would have seemed very modern to its original residents.
