Design B-7329

1918 American Modern Homes by the C. L. Bowes Co.

This plan, more common before 1910, is a small, late Queen Anne Free Classic design that bridges the highly ornamented style of the QA with the Colonial Revival that replaced it. It reflects the earlier “closed” plans of the Queen Anne with its well-defined interior spaces and reception hall. The cross-gabled roof is distinctive and creates fully functional rooms on the second floor. Despite the somewhat odd layout, it’s a very attractive and simple design.
